The Arab world that we know today has a formal definition, but when exploring the world of carpets, it is important to understand that this world has shifted and changed over the centuries, changing cultural influences and confines over the ages. In essence, like these timeless crafted pieces the design of “Magic Carpet” Club C is made to be utilised, admired and appreciated by all cultures across the globe for decades to come. Mojtaba Pejouheshnia, a 4th generation carpet maker gives us his insight on the history of carpet weaving and the ‘Magic Carpet’ Club C’s.
East meets West as we partner with Reebok to create a timeless Club C 85 dubbed the ‘Magic Carpet’. Our first official sneaker collaboration prospers from premium materials, additional subtle detailing and casual imperfections for a new lease of life. Each design element of the sneaker was deliberately selected to reflect the complex and intricate craftsmanship of carpet weaving, including opposing Arabic and English branding on top of the sneaker to represent the cultural exchange that amongst few is built on, and intricate arabesque floral patterns are found inside the shoe. Buttery soft Nappa leather uppers keep the silhouette as clean while allowing meticulous design details to reveal new aspects of the ‘Magic Carpet’ on closer inspection. This includes mismatching tongue color variations with exposed foam fillings, contrasting branded windows, heels and reformatted perforations.
